The trio of researchers knew the knowledge they'd stumbled upon wasn't meant for humanity. I pleaded with them to stop their experiments before they caused irreversible damage to Space and Time. I pleaded with them to stop playing God. In the dark recesses of their minds, they had to know their arrogance would have consequences.
Certain constants in the Universe aren't meant to be trifled with. The Universe protects itself. It punishes those who meddle. It annihilates those who knowingly destroy vital components of Reality.
